Q’epósem (Gather together)

This is one of my all-time favorite places. The meandering and dynamic Nooksack nestled amongst majestic mountains and lush forest. I go there mostly with my kids - we watch eagles, gather wood for camp fires, collect natures' treasures and we play together and apart. Sometimes for just half an hour and sometimes for a full day. It is always a gift. I am learning to receive by sitting at that river, I am learning that time is really just a concept and that I am a river too. I feel related, a relationship with a sibling that is so much bigger than me, and yet I sense a subtle kinship I don't want to miss. This is the land of the Nooksack people and Q’epósem is the word of the month in their language Lhéchalosem.
Let's gather and dance!

Berkeley, California
3 day Workshop (3rd of 4)
1 spot open (please reply with an email if interested)
The first weekend was dedicated to fascia – the connective tissue that holds us together. The second weekend was grounded in our bones and we found expression in our psoas. This time we'll explore our pelvis –the beautiful basin-shaped complex of bones that connects the torso and the legs. We explore its postural orientation in relationship to reciprocity, receptivity and capacity in dancing Contact Improvisation and how we can cultivate fluid connectivity between the lower and upper body. I am excited to have Kristen Greco join us for a class on Saturday!

Contact Improvisation Immersion in Bellingham – Planting Seeds
Aikido Peace Education Center, Bellingham, Washington
Start of a monthly series of 5 Contact Improvisation daylong workshops with local teachers in Bellingham. At this moment Rajendra Serber and Wonder Phallen are in the pool of teachers but I am hoping to invite a couple more people to expand the richness of learning together with a dedicated and committed group of movers. With this offering we strive to plant seeds that grow into more depths and embodiment dancing CI. We intend to offer a diverse pallet of skills practiced with ease and joy.
