In between packing boxes as my family once again has to move homes, I started to write this newsletter. It includes a short reflection on the first Single Moment weekend in Berkeley and offerings in Bellingham, WA. Thank you all for reading.

Contact Improvisation Immersion - The Single Moment - Berkeley, September 2022

About a month ago I spent the first of four weekends with a group of 20 people that wanted to deepen their practice of embodied Contact Improvisation. The whole weekend was steeped in the field of fascia – the connective tissues that holds us together. Guiding those students through the material feels exactly like the work I want and should be doing. I am learning to allow collective and personal experiences without trying to control the process – Instead supporting it by staying present. I was grateful to witness how their curiosity led to explorations, experimentation and to a shared felt-sense experience in and as a group.

I invited my friend Carol Swan to facilitate a historical talk interspersed with her personal experience dancing and learning CI in the 70ies and 80ies. She also brought awareness to the group when she shared her experience about why embodiment is so important in the field of social justice. It was such a pleasure to have her .

Fall Jam

The Fall Jam in Bellingham Contact Improvisation October 22 and 23. This weekend is hosted by Rajendra and myself. It will include a class, music, contemplation, and of course Contact Improvisation. It’s a perfect time to come behold the beauty and splendor of the Aikido Peace Education Center while practicing and discovering Contact Improvisation.

Somatic Movement Practice

Fall is upon us and what can be more nourishing than supporting the turn inward with a movement practice that is grounded in attunement and lives in a contained and literally beautiful space. Our little group is opening its doors once again and invites new members. November 14th (trial day) - February 27th. Commitment is essential for this practice but it doesn’t have to be weekly, just consistent. Please reach out if you are interested.

Exploratory Movement Practice
This class fosters personal growth by building upon our self-expressive capabilities in an interplay of inner and outer worlds – an antidote to fear and anxiety.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

I am happy to say that my BCST practice is slowly growing. I offer table sessions and a combination of table work with movement education. Both ways are integrated with practicing basic energy skills.
The subtle body is the place where the physical and the metaphysical meet. There are many layers to the body—including physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. By working with the subtle body, we can begin to integrate all of these layers, thus integrating body, mind, and spirit. Please contact me if you are interested or simply need and want another layer of support in your life.
